OUR PROCEDURES
The removal of sweat glands takes place in a threefold process. This is an out-patient, minimally invasive procedure which uses a local anaesthetic (tumescent local anaesthetic). At the end of the operation a compression bandage is applied. A course of anti-biotics is not necessary with the techniques that we use in our clinic. The one or two small incisions in the skin (around 4 -6 mm) heal quickly and are soon hardly visible. The patient receiving treatment can immediately return to their normal daily life. The success of the suction treatment can be seen immediately after the operation, since the treated sweat glands do not replace themselves. For most patients a single day of recovery is enough before returning to work. The body does not suffer in any way from the removal of excess axillary sweat glands.
